As a site run by an aspiring academic, you may be able to guess that I do not wish for this site to be some sort of breeding grounds for academic dishonesty. This site absolutelycan be used for help on academic endeavors, but do so responsibly. As I try to boil all of these disclaimers down to one sentence, I'll sum it up in a rule of thumb: if you're doing something on here to help with an academic exploit, it should be something that you'd feel comfortable telling your teacher, professor, supervisor, mentor, etc. In fact, we encourage absolute, 100%, full disclousure about whatever help you receive from the nameless, faceless colleagues of the interwebz.
I obviously have some non-traditional beliefs on education and some gripes with the current system (as seen here: The Internet Doesn't Care If You Like It), but you should not use the fact that you disagree with a teacher's methodolgy as an excuse to take means of which they do not approve.
Proofreading and general writing help should be absolutely okay with any teacher in any walk of life. Help with research may be a little grayer, but should still be fine with 99% of teachers. Help with brainstorming gets into an even grayer area as intellectual property is such hairy business. I would be completely fine with any of my non-existent students using resourceful, cooperative methods to collect project ideas, essay topics, etc (seeing as how it relates to skills that will help you in the real world--in what other walk of life are you discouraged from using the tools around you to help brainstorm?!), but this doesn't mean that all teachers will be okay with this (refer to paragraph two). Outright plaigiarism (that is, using x without crediting y for coming up with x) will not be okay with any teacher, and so you should not be here to just outright annex without accreditation.
procrastinaters.com is not out to get you and goes on the general assumption that people here are honest and ethical, but we will take measures necessary to maintain the integrity of the site. Measures include but are not limited to deleting posts, deleting entire threads, giving strikes or heavy-handed warnings, and outright banning users.
